Coeur d'Alene is home to Kootenai Medical Center, the award winning regional health care facility in North Idaho. The 187 bed state of the art facility features a new specialized emergency room center, critical care units, and excellent pediatrics, obstetrics, oncology, and rehabilitation departments. Continuing education, an important commitment to KMC has to the community, is evidenced by the number of public and medical professional forums provided on health-related issues. Health screening are routinely held at the hospital and in the community. The KMC volunteer program is one of the finest in Idaho.

The North Idaho Immediate Care Center features three urgent care centers in Kootenai County with no appointments necessary for sick or injured persons needing immediate medical care. North Idaho Primary Care Centers, located within each Immediate Care Centers feature board certified family physicians in Coeur d'Alene, Hayden and Post Falls. There are many physicians and dentist offices, day surgery, alternative healthcare and, massage facilities and pharmacies in the area that are available to address your health care needs.

North Idaho Cancer Center & Inland Behavioral Institute

The North Idaho Cancer Center is known throughout the Northwest for its radiation oncology program, drug treatment chemotherapy, and professional staff. Inland Behavioral Health Institute is an acute-care hospital with separate units for children, adolescents and adult care. It offers dual diagnosis programs for chemical dependency and psychiatric care, a 24-hour crisis line, crisis assessment, and a mental health referral system. The Institute offers a free initial consultation to anyone seeking help with chemical dependency or anger management. The counseling center offers individual and group therapy, couple and family therapy, and AA meetings held on location. All treatment is supervised by a psychiatrist and registered nurse.
